why is my neighbor totoro part of my shrine? unlike spirited away, totoro holds a special place is my heart. it was basically the first studio ghibli movie that really really comforted me. even after watching it repeatedly and knowing the entire plot, i still find the movie so comforting. it's also very satisfying because we all love studio ghiblis food compilations people compile onto a youtube video right? my favorite part in the movie is Satsuki making breakfest for his dad and Mei. it may be just typical japanese food but studio ghibli make typical japanese food (or any kind of food) super delicious.

the weird part is i'm a big fan of japanese sub since i grew up watching japanese sub. but my neighbor totoro is the very few movies i can watch english dub. maybe its because i was introduced to english sub watching totoro. so watching totoro in japanese dubbing is really off to me. but either way, My Neighbor Totoro will always hold a special place in my heart and i can watch the movie over and over and never get tired of it. if i ever have children, they will be exposed to studio ghibli no matter what.
